Vero Communications’ Dame Heather Rabbatts DBE interviews TEAM Marketing’s Kate Sloane in the next edition of the Leaders Meet: Diversity Chain Conversations Series

Following her discussion with Jerome Quartey of Nielsen Sports, Dame Heather Rabbatts, Chair at Vero Communications, takes on the leading role in our next conversation. Joining her is Kate Sloane, Senior Commercial Affairs Executive at TEAM Marketing.

Following completion of a bachelor’s degree in English Literature at the University of Leeds, Kate joined Wasserman as an intern in 2017. She left as an Associate Manager in 2018, joining TEAM Marketing, where she is a key part of the Commercial Affairs department, managing the global tender process for the sale of media rights for club competitions on behalf of UEFA.

TEAM Marketing is based in Lucerne, Switzerland and is a long-time supporter of the Leaders Meet: Diversity Series. Through this partnership, Kate was given the opportunity to share her career journey so far and her aspirations for the future.

The conversation covers:

  • Kate’s journey, and her current role at TEAM Marketing
  • Female role models in the workplace
  • The increase in, and importance of, women’s networking groups
  • How to navigate an industry conference for the first time
  • The relationship between politics and sport
  • Sport as a networked industry – fascinating but intimidating
  • Education and working with schools – the importance of showing what roles exist in sport to young people

Chain Conversations is part of the Leaders Meet: Diversity Series, in partnership with Facebook.

The programme brings together leaders from a variety of backgrounds across professional sport to share their personal stories of leadership and to reflect on their own career journeys, pinpointing the peaks and troughs, the helps and hinderances along the way.

Every other week the previous interviewee will become the interviewer as we hear inspiring stories from aspiring and senior leaders within the professional sports industry.

The aim is to inspire, to energise, and to showcase why diverse thinking – and diverse opportunity – makes for better business across sport and beyond.
