Nuria Tarre, City Football Group's Chief Marketing Officer, on how to drive fan growth for Manchester City FC.

Nuria Tarre is City Football Group’s Chief Marketing Officer, the parent company of Manchester City FC, New York City FC and Melbourne City FC.

City Football Group (CFG) majority owns three professional football clubs, comprising a total of 24 men’s, women’s and youth teams, in Manchester, New York and Melbourne.

Tarre was recruited in 2015 from her role as CEO of Andorran mountain resort Nevasa Grandvalira, and previously held senior executive positions in aviation and telecoms.

Her role at CFG encompasses retail, fan relationship management, brand, and research. Her work at Manchester City in particular has seen her turbocharge the club’s digital and content strategy; including the green-lighting of the ‘All or Nothing’ documentary put together by Mediapro for Amazon Prime Video, which covers City’s Premier League-winning, record-breaking 2017/2018 season.

In this edition of 5 Minutes with Leaders, recorded behind the scenes at The Leaders Sport Business Summit, London in October 2018, Tarre reflects on how to drive fan growth across the board for CFG; reveals what the City Football Group brand means to her personally; and gives an insight into what it’s like for a newcomer in the higher echelons of the sports industry.
